The link Timex Q was exactly what the market wanted. It's difficult link to make the assumption that the lack of availability of the Rolex GMT-Master II drove up the sales of the Q, because it's not truly a substitute and the demographics of the buyers are different. But, on some level, it certainly did make the Q all the more cool and interesting. This was a watch that was $179, that got you a riff on the Pepsi scheme without directly copying the GMT-Master II, and that you could link actually buy.

The second series, link hand-wound Carreras take the DNA of the 1963-1964 watches and add some variety. We start to see link different dial configurations, more two-register examples, and contrasting subdials. It should also be noted in 1964, Heuer link acquired stopwatch maker Leonidas, further proof of its "doubling down" on the concept of sports timing.
