As a modern reinterpretation of classic watchmaking purity, steeped in references to link London's aesthetic codes, the Geneva-based brand's most timeless timepiece is adorned in precious finery.Judging from the response to the seemingly lugless Furlan Marri Disco Volante in its three versions, we will see more, and I, for one, will rejoice. So it's the same steel Radiomir you know (and that many of you love), but now with an upgraded movement and two slightly different dial layouts, spanning the two-hand Radiomir Logo 3 Days Acciaio PAM00753 and the Black Seal PAM00754 version, the latter of which has a sub-seconds register at nine o'clock (in the place of the "9" numeral). The colorful Schumacher watches did indeed feature the "checkered flag" seconds track, but the orange and maroon accents of the original '68 Speedmaster Racing were absent. In the year 2000, this design feature reemerged, however. A limited edition of 6,000 pieces was released as ref. 3518.50.00. It still fell into the Speedmaster Reduced family, but it was visually much closer to the racing dials of yore.
As you would expect, that adds up to a substantial sandwich link of layered elements.I always try to imagine where I would actually see a watch like this in the wild. Monaco leapt to mind this time around, so I guess it makes sense that this limited edition will hit that market along with others of a similar vibe.Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222, ref. 4200H/222A-B934, 37mm diameter by 7.95mm thick stainless steel case, with 50m water resistance. Matte blue dial with white gold hands, hour markers, and logo at 12 o'clock. Hands with Super-LumiNova. Hours, minutes, and date. Vacheron Constantin caliber 2455/2 movement running at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 40 hours of power reserve. Integrated stainless steel bracelet. Price: $32,000. Exclusive to Vacheron Constantin boutiques.
It was the worst day on Wall Street since 2020, link and the reverberations were felt from New York to Tokyo (as well as here in rainy Manchester).Tried, indeed, because there's no solution that will guarantee that these watches will not end up with flippers. While I'm not super into automatic Daytonas as collectibles (as daily wears, you know I love 'em), I do love a good gold Daytona. And there are some insane examples in this sale – this 6239 PN has one of the nicest dials I've seen in a long while, and if this one had bit more reasonable an estimate, I'd be a bidder – but the watch that the conservative collector in me likes is lot number nine.
