In 2026, my next home improvement project will be a bathroom makeover focused on updating all the fittings to matte black finishes. I’m planning to replace my shower head, taps, towel radiator and other fixtures with black versions — something that’s becoming a stylish choice in contemporary bathrooms and pairs well with both light and bold colour schemes.
Choosing black fittings like black shower head, black taps and black towel radiator gives the bathroom a sleek, unified feel and makes a strong design statement, moving away from the usual chrome or mixed-metal finishes I’ve had up to now. While black fixtures can show water spots more easily, I think the cleaner, updated aesthetic will be worth the little extra care. Overall I’m excited to see how this simple change can transform the look and feel of the whole bathroom next year!

I’m currently planning a refresh of my living space, starting with repainting a few rooms and updating the flooring to give the place a more modern feel. After that, I’m hoping to tackle a bathroom renovation like changing shower head, later in the year – it’s the room we use most, and a small remodel would make a big difference in how comfortable and functional it feels.
