While this isn't as in-depth as you might come to expect from Foulkes, it briefly reviews the history and the creation of Chanel's timepieces starting with the Premier in 1987 and ending with the most recent link J12 releases. The book is beautiful, and so are the people inside it (lots of models). Page through it and you'll bear witness to the ideal integration of fashion and horology.The Pilot Majetek pays homage to that original 1930s model both in aesthetics and with some (overt) Easter eggs. The most basic design code on this piece is its cushion case, though the sizing does differ from the original 40mm width of the reference, with this new model upsized to 43mm. The dial is a textured matte black with raised painted numerals coated in Old Radium Super-Luminova and a classic railroad minute track to tie it all together.In modes that have additional "pages" for the screen, the top pusher (at two o'clock) can cycle through the options. This is mostly to alternate between time and the date display when you're in standard time mode. The screen is bright, easy to read, and offers nothing extra along the way. With somewhat vague feedback from the heavily actioned pushers, the whole experience is rather '80s, but it all works well enough on the wrist.

This new sizing can be had in one of two dial layouts, silver-white sub-dials on a black dial or the inverse of black on silver.
