Thickness is among the core proportions that enthusiasts weigh in the mental math for a new watch, and I think the surprisingly thin profile of the FXD GMT is a big plus for Tudor. Imagine the feedback if the GMT had been 2mm thicker than the standard FXD…

Longines reintroduced the stainless steel Ultra-Chron in 2022, and it was praised for its 36,000vph movement and design, which evokes the 1968 original. Now there's a new variant. The Ultra-Chron Carbon follows a similar form but looks strikingly different.Are the functional changes overly useful for daily life? Maybe not, but link I like that a watch company is working with different space-related organizations to provide a specially designed and useful analog tool.Or maybe you just like an over-specced watch on your forearm when you go on adventures.Dating back to 1965, this particular example is in absolutely excellent condition, with an unpolished case, a clean dial, and a crisp hand set.
