Has anyone else noticed how much the internet has changed our social habits?

I was looking at my screen time report this week and had a real moment of clarity. I realized that a huge chunk of my social interaction now happens not in person, but through digital spaces. From group chats to online forums, my sense of community feels increasingly virtual.

It got me thinking about the bigger picture. How is this shift in how we connect influencing our culture, our social cues, and even our sense of self? Are we becoming more globally aware but less locally connected?

I recently found this one site that shows online activity and it was weirdly fascinating, like seeing a heartbeat of the digital world. It just emphasized how many of us are "elsewhere" at any given moment.

Would love to hear your thoughts or if you've had similar realizations.
