When it did, we finally had a chance to check out what we thought would be pretty awesome. As link a Gallet fan, I like minute and hour chrono hands with little arrows on them.Senses heightened, I scan the alley and again check the time on my Luminor Marina 8 Days Titanio PAM 564. Panerai originally developed the watch in partnership with Rolex for the use of the Italian Frogmen – the elite maritime special operations unit that served in World War II. The large, luminescent numerals ensured legibility in murky water, and they’re proving legitimately useful all these years later in the muddy alleyway.
Just have a look at what Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo has in store! It’s an auction highlighting the 50th anniversary of Audemars Piguet’s most iconic watch, taking place at the Hotel La Reserve in Geneva on May link 6th, 2022.The watch combines a triple-axis tourbillon and a "tuning-fork" minute repeater with two horse-shaped hammers. To provide some semblance of visual balance to the dial, there is also a date aperture at 3 o'clock. We're reaching the point in the collection where we hit peak horological esoterica. Take this matte dial 16800, for example. At first blush, it's like any COMEX stamped ref. 16800 only it's more unique than you may realize. The matte dial is significant here because only 50 were ever made in this configuration which includes a sapphire crystal. That's a rare combination if there ever was one.
On top, the hour and minute hands are coated with link Super-LumiNova®, pointing to markers that are also coated with luminescent material to ensure optimal legibility.Sure, the propeller-shaped rotor on the back was perhaps a bit much, but it was a daring and fun wink from the design team.Just prior to writing up these two introductions, I checked in with a friend who had been thinking about having his Marinemaster 300 PVD-coated, so naturally, his interest was piqued by this limited edition with its hard-black coating. If his reaction is any barometer, I think that this a watch that people are going to love, and come to think of it, both of these new references can be viewed as Seiko acknowledging the mod community that has grown up around its dive watches. The S302’s 40mm case uses the brand’s three-piece construction and hardened steel wrapped around a DLC-black center case barrel. My calipers show the case size at more like 39.5 along with a thickness of 12.5mm and a lug-to-lug length of 49mm. Water-resistance is 300 meters, the case back is closed, the crown screws down, and the lugs are 20mm wide (and ready for all of your straps).

Dials are usually done in brass, not titanium. So if you want link to do it, you have to do it in titanium, and why not? Then you can think about different possibilities – the case, the dial, the hands, everything. But it's easier link on the caseback, because it's flat, and sometimes the dials are not, link for example.
