In the press release, Justin Walters says that he got a lot of positive reactions to the first link pictures of the design he shared on Instagram. It started the rumor mill that kept spinning until Omega finally revealed the new black Seamaster Diver 300M just a few weeks ago.In my early days of watch enthusiasm I may have been one of those people, making sure everyone knew that Sinn and Damasko (they sort of make an in-house movement) were doing something similar to IWC for a lot less money. But over the years I've come to understand that there are simply different buyers, with different motivations, buying in different segments.
If you link pull out the crown to the first position, turning it counterclockwise will change the day of the week, while turning it clockwise will change the date.In which order would you put the quintet of Hublot Big Bang 20th Anniversary watches? Please share in the comments. For a movement in a ~$150 watch in the '90s: A-okay. For today? It's definitely behind the times and though a competent watchmaker can do a good job of regulating it, don't expect anything close to COSC (you could get lucky, some do). With a stated accuracy of +25-15 seconds a day, that's still pretty dang good considering there are some 86,400 seconds in a day. Certainly a higher score than any tests I took in the '90s.
In addition to its chronometric link precision certified by the COSC, it is resistant to magnetic fields greater than 15,000 gauss. This is simply because it has better properties that suit dive watches and the environments they could be exposed to.These three watches are all 44.25mm in diameter, and they are made out of a combination of platinum and gold, so there is some serious wrist heft going on. What I do think is well worth pointing out, though, is that they don't seem to wear crazy large. Check out the wrist shot below (taken by Stephen during Swatch Group's Time To Move event) for a bit of context. This might be one of the strangest things to get excited about on a watch, but one of my favorite features is the lug design. With a nice, soft, sculptural design with brushed facets, not only were they comfortable and didn't dig into my arm like far too many watches, but the high-polish edges pop in the sunlight.
