    why does my television make a continual buzzing noise when turned on

    Could be a bad ground. The noise is probably a 60hz buzz from the outlet. Try a different outlet, or then it is internal, probably a bad filter capacitor in the power supply.
    Depends on what type of buzzing, static or electric buzzing. Static can be interference with something, if static thy turning things off to see if it stops, could be a neighbor if you live close. If electric it could be a solenoid or short. Better get it serviced by a professional.
    Sounds like something is getting ready to take a dive in your television set! Better ask a TV repair person
    There is no more TV Repairmen, just go to Wal-Mart and get a new one
