Since I got it, I wear it regularly and like it very much, but it doesn't give me the sentimental 'birth year'-feel that I thought it would give me. Since I link am born in 1977, the first watches I can recall being interested in, are those of the 1980s. Think digital Casio and Seiko models. I still have my first watch, a Casio digital black sports watch from 1986 or 1987.When Daniel Roth and Louis Vuitton invited me over to have a look at the new Daniel Roth collection last year, I fell head over heels for it.This is only an observation and I think that it looks great on any of these watches, and interestingly enough all are diver's watches.For all its greater refinement, this is still a watch, once you get it on, that calls for some time in the field and I hope at least some of these get out there and get wet and dirty; they're built for it, after all. As wonderful as SLA033 is as an exercise in nostalgia, and while it's impossible to see it and not think of its (comparatively) cheap and cheerful predecessor, it also stands on its own as an extremely well-made modern sports watch.
As aforementioned, the watch is very comfortable on the wrist due to the size and weight. A well-balanced watch that you can easily use as a daily link watch.In its current form, it looks like something it's not, like a 4X4 car that can't drive through the mud.Its deep, rich blue shade combined with the simple yet refined design makes it perfect for me.The best thing is that they are no longer solely available in expensive watches.
