The first thing that struck me about this piece was the interplay of the weighty YG and the almost sporty, flat (not-quite matte) black dial with sparse design. There's just a 12, a six, and a date window. But the minimalist nature of the dial in concert with the double branding on the bezel creates a look and feel that just works, and feels like the 1980s in a more visceral way than I was expecting.
