What does "Slope Mode" do, and can I use it in tournaments?

The Slope Mode on the Vpro is a game-changer for practice and casual rounds. It doesn't just give you the straight-line distance; it calculates the adjusted distance based on the angle between you and the target. If you're shooting to an elevated green, it will give you a longer "plays like" distance. For a downhill shot, it will be shorter.

Now, for tournament play: No, you cannot use the Slope Mode. According to the USGA Rules, devices that measure elevation change are illegal in competition. The great news is that the Gogogo Sport Vpro has a built-in switch to easily turn off the Slope function. This makes it tournament legal (provided the device is used for distance only, which it is). Simply slide the switch on the side, and it will function as a standard, legal rangefinder.

Now I am looking for value. Allow me the opportunity to spend my imaginary money on a watch I want and think is overlooked: an early link Lange Saxonia with a big date and split signature. I am partial to the reference 105.027 with its link white gold case and flat blue dial but link you can pick up most of the case and dial combinations for right around this price point.
