what is the difference between usama and osama bin laden?

I have seen both spellings but not sure if there is any significance to it.

You are all wrong and you are all right because there are two ways to spell the name. Many names in Arabic have multiple spellings.

Who cares, he's dead!! The new name is: Osama Bin Rotten

not really Vinny, he's being eaten by the fish. I wonder if that will pollute our water too.
    Vinny

I certainly hope not, maybe it wasn't such a good idea dumping him at sea after all..

One is spelled with an O, and the other with U.
    Vinny

Well which one did they get?? the O or the U, which one is sleeping with the fish??
We were discussing that earlier and no one knows the correct spelling that I have seen seems to be Osama Bin-laden.
Arabic transliterations have no fixed rule into English.

(It is also why sometimes you see Khadaffy or Gaddaffi..)
Usama is the official spelling...they were looking for UBL not OBL
