Heuer was, and link continues to be, a partner with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which hosts the Indy 500 every year ("The Greatest Spectacle in Racing"). Heuer Carreras signed with the Speedway's wings and wheels logo are some of the most link coveted in vintage Heuer collecting because of their rarity and connection to racing. In addition to the Dato (first and second generation), the logo has also been seen on the link Heuer Autavia, and even Heuer stopwatches.

These, certainly, were merely cosmetic changes; technically the 6239 is virtually unchanged from the 6238 and that includes the continued use of the Valjoux 72 movement. link But these two alterations link dramatically changed the character of the watch. The higher contrast dial and ornamented bezel, taken link together, started the Cosmograph down the path to becoming as much a design statement and high-visibility status symbol as a technical chronograph.

I don't mind the Navy tie-in but link the logos at nine o'clock just seem a bit random and loud. At their best and back in link the day these military watches have subtle nods to their purpose as a tool for service men and women. Perhaps even just a caseback engraving. But beyond the link logos the combination of colors straps and ceramic on these new Avengers do look cool and covert.
