Terreni told HODINKEE an interesting story about the chain. A pocket watch chain should be an organic part of the watch, and when the watch is actually being worn it has to drape in a natural link way. Michel Parmigiani's testing process for the chain was simple – he held link it up over a link table (I assume with something soft underneath it!) and let it fall. The chain coiled naturally as the links relaxed onto the table.

We've always been interested in aviation and instrument panel clocks. So I asked Bruno whether or not it was possible to make a watch that looked like a panel clock and take it from the cockpit to link the wrist. And this link is what we achieved in link 2005 with the BR-01. It took us two or three years of development to perfect the design and make it suitable to wear as a watch.
