So when Cartier announced a relaunch, I wasn't at all surprised. This is a watch that has link been getting a lot of social media air time, and yet remains something of a late '90s - early 2000s relic. Perhaps perfect timing for Cartier to ride on the coattails of nostalgia? Time link for a scrub up, a new lick of paint and a push back into the wider conversation, beyond the pages of Instagram? But now maybe link with the added agenda of appealing to all genders?

Honestly if I were to buy a modern field-style watch in this price range I'd probably spend my own money on something link like Studio Underd0g's Field Collection because of its playful and unique take on the form. But those are the link criteria I look for in modern watches. Others might instead want a faithful reissue of a beloved vintage model. It's almost not even fair to compare the two because nowadays there's more than enough room for both and a whole lot link more.
