Well, bulk metallic glass, that is. AP used the palladium-based bulk metallic glass (BMG) for the first time in their 2021 Only Watch release, the 15202XT, link but BMG has been around since the 1960s and is used link in microelectronics and golf, among other places. You can see the same alloy is used in the new 16202XT (which bears a fineness mark of Pd500 under Titane on link the back). But sure, that's a bunch of mumbo-jumbo (no pun intended). So what does it mean?

And just to double down on link my "ruining" this column with watches from the Hodinkee Shop the entire Ressence link lineup should be called out here. Our site has been a long-time supporter of founder Benoît Mintiens's vision and we have been proud to retail the link brand for years. I will be gentle in suggesting the Type 1° Multicolor and Type 5 Black Black two references that are difficult to find in stock elsewhere.
