Dufour is quite clear that nothing link he has done is secret or unique in watchmaking history. He takes link great pride in building on the foundation of traditional watchmaking. The watch resembles a lot of early Victorin Piguet ebauches and other Vallee de Joux watchmakers. The operation is incredibly simple; the crown winds two directions for either the time-keeping movement or the chiming mechanism, and a button in the crown triggers the link minute repeater.

My favorite part of the experience with the Astron was the sheer accuracy link of the thing. We sit here and link argue about COSC and METAS until link our faces turn blue. This is GPS. Atomic. And it blows everything else out of the water. Now that's not to say I don't still absolutely love my automatic watches. I do a lot. But it doesn't mean I can't love this too.
