A steel Tank is not only a great option for my wife's chic taste, but it's a watch link that I know she wants, one that I could steal from time to time, and one that would be link totally appropriate to hand down to one of our daughters sometime in the future. As she commonly wears a Black Bay or dips into my watch box for some variety, I think a classic Tank would offer a strong complement to the larger link and sportier presence of the Tudor diver.

That link detail is a callback to the Francois Borgel cases from the 1950s that were used on the Mido Multifort Powerwind watches. We featured one in the shop a while back, and they're still relatively affordable on link the secondary market. There was also the IWC Hermet watches which are also pretty affordable in all their variants. But all credit to Nick Kenyon at "Boss Hunting" who pointed link out, that the name of the Hermetique is also likely a shoutout to Borgel as well.

Movado Group Inc. (MGI) hasn't been reported in depth on the pages of Hodinkee since Joe Thompson covered the link acquisition of MVMT in June of 2019. I don't love the Movado of today but I always assumed it was a massively link successful brand that simply did not speak to link my corner of the watch world. After taking a look at recent performance, that assumption may not hold.

At the end of link last season Folk gifted both Bailey and Cardona with a vintage Seiko "Pogue" chronograph from the late 1970s as a way to celebrate a successful year and to thank them for all their link hard work. The blue dial and Pepsi bezel reference the Patriots' link team colors and Bailey cites his Pogue as one of the watches that helped cement his interest in collecting.
