Following suit from last year, the new Ice Race model is based on Porsche Design's Chronograph 1 and it's called, fittingly, the GP 2023 Edition.Since I got a nice watch for Christmas (thanks, me, you're so generous!) one of my New Year's resolutions was to at least find something to put it on that's not hard. I ended up getting one of these adorable valet trays from Hodinkee, full disclosure, I work here. But you don't need something that adorable. You can wrap a shoebox top in an old T-shirt and set that on your dresser, it will do fine.

This watch though has given Randle the itch to go to Le Brassus and visit the AP Manufacture sometime in the near future.Continuing on the theme of outstanding condition, the dial here shows a bit of tropical hues and is overall even throughout. Full tropical dials are one thing, but when a gilt dial Rolex like this one sits somewhere between black and brown, the look is far less jarring while being just as charming.
