New York is overcrowded and compact.  I don't think New York has many alleys so the trash is piled on the streets.

Billionaires and millionaires don't ever have to think about things like "cleaning". They have those "little people" to do everything for them. I doubt that those in charge even notice dirt.

Miffy today is ubiquitous I walked past her in an East Village toy store the night before I wrote this.
