I haven't seen a panhandler in years.  I try to avoid where I might see them.

No.  I did buy a roasted chicken and I gave it to a homeless man that used to sit under a tree at the park a very long time ago.

No. I want my money to go where it is most needed. There are dozens of agencies who assist those who need it and they have much more information about "those in need" than I do. Some panhandlers (not all) are simply seeking drug and alcohol money and are well known in this community, for doing so on a daily basis. I prefer to help support a rehab facility. To me, it makes more sense.

Yes, I have. I keep $2 bills on hand just to give. They usually make the taker very happy. It’s worth 2 bucks to feel responsible for making someone’s day if only for a little while....

Yes, occasionally, sparingly and mostly impulsively. They stand a better chance when accompanied by a pet.
