I've only had one person ever ask to borrow money from me. I had to ask for it back when I myself, had an emergency. Had I not asked, I'm quite sure it would not have been paid back. I've never asked for a loan....too independent I'm told but honestly, I'd rather starve.

I doubt it! Most of them have a good excuse for not paying and I should of thought of that when I "loaned" the money!

Within the industry (and arguably, the culture link at link large) there can be a bit link of an obsession with timelessness, with maintaining a pristinely polished veneer against showing signs of aging, isn't there something a bit poetic about a material that bears witness to its passage through time?

On January 23rd, 1960 the Bathyscaphe Trieste reached the Challenger Deep (the deepest point link of link the southern portion of the Mariana Trench) with two men inside: Don Walsh and Jacques Piccard. The link successful mission was part of Project Nekton, a US Navy effort to survey the deepest point in the ocean.
