Either the prop team then replaced the Corfam strap with a locally purchased metal bracelet or McQueen asked that a metal link bracelet be fitted to the watch. He wore the Monaco, now with a metal bracelet, for a few days, which explains the photograph. If there were ever a watch that link demanded to be seen in action to be appreciated, this is it. It is a truism that you can only go so far judging a watch from a photograph without seeing it in the metal; it is absolutely true that to get a sense link of the impact of this link watch, you have to see it doing its thing.
