    Did you ever misread or mispronounce a word, and it triggered a lot of laughs?

    Years ago, a co-worker was doing a crossword puzzle at lunch, and he asked me and another guy, "What is a 4 letter word for a "Mexican goodle?" He mistook the "i" for an "l'. We were rolling on the floor, and 30 years later, it still comes up once in awhile. We're still friends. By the way, the answer was "taco".

     The first time I saw the name of the city, Des Moines, I asked my mom where is Des Moy-nnaise (Mayonnaise)?


     


    She got a good laugh from my mispronunciation.
