Just the other day I was cleaning up three years worth of nothing important but covered with plastic when  disturbed a nest of yellow jackets! Didn’t know it until I felt the impact on my hand. The innocuous creature left behind a hole in my thumb meets forefinger area. I went straight in and applied baking sods and water and applied the paste. Never really hurt but my hand was bruised looking and sore.....

Yes by a hornet. I was a little kid and he was chasing me. I swatted at him and he got me on the inside of my forearm. Ouch! I went crying to Mommy who said, "Next time don't swat at them". (Thanks for your sympathy Mom!)  lol

We have a cattle tick here in Aussie Bob,i would imagine you would have them over your way,,if enough of them get on animals they can eventually make them anemic, but when they are fully gorged they simply fall off.they usually put cows through a dip regularly..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Infected ticks cause Lyme disease. A friend's mother has suffered for years.

Their are those in Aussie that say they have the disease,,but our medical profession do not seem to recognize it Bob..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/factsheets/Pages/lyme_disease.aspx

I was also stung by one, the only time I was ever stung. It hurt a lot.

Yes! I'm allergic to bee stings! I carry an epipen. Had a horrible reaction a couple times as I swell up big time! Those pens are expensive.

Expensive but better than blowing up like a balloon?

Better than dying from swollen air ways, but parents who have children with allergies do not need to pay 600.00 dollars for a protection for their kids. This drug is out of control! I know a few people whose children have died from allergic reactions.

Bailey carries an EpiPen for peanuts. We switched to Auvi-Q. You should really check that out. I think there free or close to it.

This is a difficult thing to live with for sure. I have a couple of friends with severe allergies. I know that you have to be sooo very careful and always alert.

I've stepped on a fire ant bed a few times when I was living in the country.  One bite is bad enough, but several bites all at once is torture.

Yes, a couple of bee stings were painful. One on the back of my leg felt like I'd been hit by a baseball bat.

Yes to many.. bee's, wasp's, hornet's, fire ants, bumblebees,( it's said they like to go for the eyes. And he got me less that an inch from my eye.). I feel for the honey bees, because they dye when they sting. The lesson I have learned is each time makes me cuss.

i thought this would be worth sharing: Legendary racer and team owner A.J. Foyt is recovering after being attacked by a swarm of Africanized killer bees on his Houston-area ranch.

The bees attacked the 83-year-old Foyt on Wednesday as he rode a bulldozer while working on his Houston-area ranch and apparently disturbed a bee hive.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and released several hours later after his condition was stabilized and he was able to return home.

It’s the second time Foyt, one of only three drivers to win the Indianapolis 500 four times, has been attacked by bees on his ranch in recent years.

He suffered over 200 bee stings to his head and even more to his body in a 2005 attack.

A statement by A.J. Foyt Racing indicated Wednesday’s injury was more serious than the one 13 years ago because the earlier attack had made him more sensitive to bee stings.

Foyt had planned on attending this weekend’s 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida, but has cancelled the trip for medical reasons. He had been scheduled to be inducted into Sebring’s Hall of Fame tonight and was slated to be the race’s grand marshal on Saturday.

The bee attack apparently didn’t injure Foyt’s wry sense of humor.

“I look like I had a fight with Mike Tyson and lost,” he said. “Right now I’m on so much medication that I’m not feeling that great, so I’ll take the doctors’ advice to rest for the next couple days.”

Yes, I hab been stung by an indect. It was a wab
