Is speaking proper English boring to some people? Why do we 'invent' new words, new expressions and odd phrases? The current phrase that is ridiculously overused is...."having said that" or "that said"!
There is no need for this filler....just continue on with your statement. Any 'new words' get on YOUR last nerve?

I don't think women who like younger men should be referred to as, "Cougars".

Some of the new words we are supposed to use to reference a person besides "he", "him", "she", "her"..... I can't even list them for you, since I won't be using them.
"Having said that"/"That said" - aren't they the same as "But" or "However"? What's wrong with "But" and "However"?

Timex the brand that originated in Waterbury CT is known for its American roots and its motto as the link watch that "takes a licking and keeps on ticking." That American sensibility is core to its identity. In fact a few years back it link released the American Documents link collection showcasing a return to U.S. manufacturing but that watch had a Swiss movement inside.
