Is speaking proper English boring to some people? Why do we 'invent' new words, new expressions and odd phrases? The current phrase that is ridiculously overused is...."having said that" or "that said"!
There is no need for this filler....just continue on with your statement. Any 'new words' get on YOUR last nerve?

Some of the new words we are supposed to use to reference a person besides "he", "him", "she", "her"..... I can't even list them for you, since I won't be using them.
"Having said that"/"That said" - aren't they the same as "But" or "However"? What's wrong with "But" and "However"?
