What the article really means, is that in order to save the planet, the humans must all die out. There will be no one left on this earth in 125 years or so (depending on how long the last or oldest person on earth lives to be).

That's one way of looking at it. I've heard people say, " I don't want to bring a child into this world, how terrible it is", etc There have always been terrible aspects about the planet. People will go on procreating. I hope this is a minority view. For many, this is just a cop out. I couldn't imagine life without my son. I'd like to have more kids. .

Every generation says the same thing as the previous generation, on a variety of topics. Nothing is new. This is the same kind of comment as "Why, when I was your age...." or "Kids nowadays...." or "It's such a fast-paced society now..." or "Where are their parents...." on and on and on. :)
