My grandmother (rest her soul)  could give a look that would send chills down my spine.  She was not one to be messed with and you didn't mess with her children either.  A couple of her daughters ex-husbands and boyfriends were never seen or heard from again after my grandmother gave them the look.

My dad had a look that could wither flowers. We’d all just wish he’d spank us real quick and get it over with. But nooooo, we each suffered the look at one or many time. He mellowed with age but we still walked softly out of habit........

I never got the look,but i got plenty of smacks in the head till i got old enough to give some smacks in the head back..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
