Back then, I told the time to speed up. Today, I ask the time to please slow down. :))

My siblings taught me how to read long before school started. I guess it would be riding a bike but that’s only because I had to borrow bikes to pract with, none of my siblings had one sma enough for me. Oh, I know, I had a very difficult time eating any kind of squash. Slick and gaggy......

    mycatsmom

I felt sick too, when my parents made me eat winter squash. I don't mind the yellow summer squash, but they never served that.

As a kid ..... girls:   As a teen .... girls:   As a young adult .... women:   As a middle ager ..... ladies:   As a senior citizen .... I'm still working on it!

I was terrified of my best friends Dad! This is when I was 5 or so!  I don't know why he scared me as he was a gentle man. The only thing I can think is he was a sexton in a cemetery.  Today probably known as a caretaker of the grounds and back them -a gravedigger. My  friend and I would earn money by trimming around grave monuments. We used grassclippers and got 5 cents for large tombstones. We earned money to buy ice cream  and it took a few weeks to earn a banana spilt!  I think it was more a parents message to earn your treats.  But I did overcome my fear of him!  Especially on payday!

I don't know why, but my writing improves significantly when I use a thinner barrel pen. My writing can go from barely legible to receiving compliments on how neat my writing looks. LOL

That's strange but true, my writing is improved when I use a pen with a larger barrel. It must be something to do with the hands, or the grip we have.

Probably so. I'm left-handed, but I don't know if being a lefty matters.

I like pens that have dark ink, with bigger barrel or at least average. i love to hand write and see how others hand write too.

It's too bad they don't teach cursive handwriting anymore.....at least they don't in my state :-\ What's worse is, I read they're not going to teach spelling anymore. They say it's " embedded in the curriculum " I guess they're trying to dummy down our society .

My son is 23 and he can not write nor read cursive. It's a shame.
    mycatsmom

I know. If I had a little child nowdays, I would teach him / her cursive.

    OOKAAAY,,And what is cursive..??????>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

" Terry, I had no doubt that you know what cursive writing means. I had an idea that we associate it with different names.
    terryfossil 1

No CB,i did not know until you said what it was.then i knew what you were talking about,we have always called it longhand or running writing..bit like you say MOM and we say MUM..:):):):)..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

math........b/c when I was a kid, I had an undetected vision problem- - - untill the 6th grade...... and that accounts for why I got behind in math.

    lindilou

Same here MCM! I was too embarrassed of getting glasses because I thought the kids would pick on me so said nothing about not seeing the chalk on the blackboard! Well by grade 2 I had horn-rimmed glasses and yes the kids picked on me... I got in so much trouble for breaking them but finally my maw let me get John Lennon granny glasses and then I was the cool kid LOLOL When we are kids we are just so gullible and so moved by what other kids think, say and do.... pathetic aren't we! I think I was at times... John Lennon glasses LOL
    mycatsmom

Lindi, I had those granny / John Lennon glasses when I was 19 , but it was too late.....I had already graduated from H.S. The boys in my school did NOT date girls who wore glasses and my parents would not get me contact lens >:-O
Thanks for replying to my post. :-)
