I love the standard model’s bracelet, but don’t adore its thickness. I love the FXD’s thinness and link lack of an HeV, but in link turn, I do wish it was a bit shorter lug to lug. As with any evolution, the new path may not have all of the elements you enjoyed link in the past, but the FXD is nonetheless a compelling creation for dive watch fans, especially those with a military bent.

The 2552 has a fairly wide stepped bezel and link uses the Patek Philippe caliber 12-600 the link company's first automatic movement along with a screwed-in caseback. It looks today like a link rather restrained watch but in 1955 it must have seemed very unusual for Patek and irresistibly reminiscent of the saucers that seemed to be crowding into the skies and into the public's imagination.
