          I'm watching the water rising on TV and the people are being warned to take this hurricane very, very seriously. Mandatory evacuations are already happening. This hurricane could be disastrous.

          From the reports today (Monday), it looks as though Austin may be okay. Even when it roars back in, as expected, it's supposed to continue to head to the north/east of you. Whew!? Any tornadoes in your area?

          No tornadoes. Austin is a rare victim of twisters. We sit funny. And yes, today was sunshine, humility, and cat heaven (after all the rain days). But Houston is getting hit again. Homes with twelve ft stilts are getting water, highways are disappeared, and there are thousands of idiots who didn't heed the warnings. They had their chance.....

          Unbelievable. I'm watching 24 hour coverage on tv. Really sad and awful. Looks as though New Orleans gets it again....on their 12 anniversary of the last one. :((

              Praying for all of our Texas members along with their families and friends. I'm following it on TV and it looks like it's going to be really bad. I see that it is headed straight for you jh. Will you evacuate? Soon?

                Evacuate to where? Everybody I know lives in disaster areas, in fact, my home is probably the safest ( we're up on a hill) of all. The worse that could happen already has, the downing of the giant chinaberry tree in back. We are batting down the hatches! But thanks for your concern......

                I'm pretty high up, duck. Will be just a lot of wet. 9" of rain? Harvey is hitting Corpus Christi, or actually a little above, right now as I type. Tried to go to the grocery store but there was no parking anywhere!

                I saw a reporter in Corpus Christi around supper time (a few hours ago) who said they were expecting about 12 feet of water before it was over. It will hover over Texas for a few days and that will create even more problems with so much rain falling over so many days and nights. Please stay in touch periodically so we know you are okay.

                We had cyclone Yasi in 2011 and a Cat 5,they said it would wipe out Innisfail,,they were wrong,it caused 3.6 Billion $ damage and one dead,,but did not directly hit innisfail..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

                Raining still. And rain and rain. No floating dumpsters this time but the creeks are wild. My cotton is happy. I'm fine and everybody already did their shopping, the stores were almost empty!

                  There is always enough room in West Texas area. No rain either. Catagory 4 now.  Now saying up to 40 inches in places possible.

                      I have a confession to make. For too long, I have been falling prey to the idea that 40mm is the sweet-spot watch size. After spending a week with the Chronomaster Original, everything is link different. I link am firmly in the 38mm camp now. Much of that is bolstered by the classic case proportions that harken back to the original A386, as well as the relative thinness link of 12.6mm.

                        This is also a version of what collectors call a "Maxi Dial" which refers to the enlarged lume plots for the link hour markers. link If you quickly scroll back and forth between this watch and the watch directly above link you'll spot it immediately. The goal here was to make the watch even more legible. Technically this is a mark iii maxi dial as there were multiple configurations but there we go again getting a bit too far into the weeds...
