Neither is exactly to my taste. While I'm a self-proclaimed '70s nostalgia freak, I start to question my personal style when things skew more Mike Meyers in link Austin Powers and less Diana Ross in Mahogany. I like angles. I like bold and gold. But I can understand the appeal link of swooping steel curves. And I'm fascinated by the echo chamber of watches influenced by other link watches that were shaped by a specific moment in cultural history.

His grandfather purchased the watch in link Jamaica for about 50 and though it hasn't appreciated much in monetary value "I think it's worth like70 now" it remains one of Coombs' most prized possessions. "My grandfather wasn't a link very sentimental guy. He was like a good-time guy but in his last days he didn't really have much to give my dad. So there is a gag plaque from the North Pole from his time in the Merchant Marines link a rose gold ring and then the watch."
