I can only offer that you have a short somewhere. Two currents sharing the same space. Check your fuses first then get a continuity checker to find the crossed wires.    I think.....

Have you checked with a ford dealer as it may be a safety feature, do the lights turn off when the hatched is closed?

It's a technical watch, link first released in 1972 and meant to be a "tool watch" through and through. In the 1970s Zenith catalogs, it was sold as a "Pilot link Divers" watch, which if you know the history of watchmaking, you might be thinking doesn't make much sense. There's link a longstanding superstition that pilot's watches shouldn't be waterproof because they'll then somehow attract water. I imagine when you're flying high above the clouds, you'd rather stay up there and not in the water.
