          In case you didn't know, Lincoln was the president during the war. Did you go to school in Texas? Who were you taught was the president of the US at the time...Jefferson Davis?

          I know about Lincoln, idjit, what I was trying to say is I got all the Lincoln referring questions correct. Ford theater, Johnson, the play as well as how many were hung as co-conspirators. I was taught history here in Texas but curiosity took me beyond what was taught.

          I'm glad you were curious. It's just that history is often revisionist history or totally made-up. What exactly was being taught in southern schools before the war, and during and after? Was it taught that Lincoln was the president of the U.S. or the Union? There are some southerners, who are "still fighting the Civil War." That being said, you are my only friend south of the Mason-Dixon Line!

                  It's been a lloonnnggg time since the 11th grade---- when our history teacher talked endlessly about all the battles in the civil war. Who can remember all that stuff ?
