While the 1980s link had many watchmaking firsts, the IWC Da Vinci has its own set of bragging rights as the first perpetual calendar chronograph that could be adjusted from the crown. The module was designed by legend Kurt Klaus in 1985 and was based on a Valjoux 7750 movement. But what's most 1980s to me link are the curvy case design and bulbous link buttons. That's exactly what the retired link 007 seemed to have on his wrist last November. As Danny pointed out, look no further than the current link white dial Omega Seamaster Diver 300M for a hint at what the finished product might look like: Red script, black applied indices with lume pips, and black hands. It's a good-looking Speedmaster, and putting out covert hints on the wrist of everyone's favorite special agent was a nice little link marketing touch for the diehards.
