Most important question so far this year (2017)...

    ""

When it's time to launder a jacket that has a black section in front, a white section in back, a white collar and half black and half white sleeves, does it get washed with whites or darks? What happens to it if it is laundered by itself? (Not exactly as shown.)

    How perplexing is THIS! LOL!!!

You can wash it by itself, depending on what the label instructions say and depending on what it's made out of.

Unpick the stitches, separate the different colours, give it to the village washerwoman, she will beat it on the same rock that she beats all the other villagers washing, when you get the clean bits back, be prepared with needle and thread.

Benthere, you're stressing me out. This is serious! lol

Could you hook up a pully over the washing machine and wash each half at a time?  You know dunk it half in?  Or take it to a laundry and see what they say!  Or throw it in alone and see how gray looks on you?

Now, THAT sounds like a great idea! You aka members are soooooo inventive! lol

Maybe there's a care label inside with instructions that you might have missed?

Machine washable and dryable. Wash dark colors separately. lol

Oh, good grief, unless it says otherwise, take it to be dry cleaned……

Nope, waste of money! It would cost almost as much as the jacket.

No, it wouldn't, catch a special or go to a laundromat that has the special dry cleaning machine. Or as CB says, spot clean it. Or, if it was that cheap of a jacket, write it off, you'll still have the memories...

Like most things, maybe our dry cleaning costs are considerably higher than in the States?
    jhharlan

Mail the jacket to me and I'll take care of it PLUS the return postage.

    LOL!! You're too kind.

    I'm dead serious.

My OCD is kicking in.  I would spot wash any stains, spray it with Febreeze, and hang it outside to freshen it up.

Lots of hints but nothing about my 'color problem'. :((

Derrrr! I would wash it separately on delicate with cold water... I wear layers of hoodies with a Cowichan vest over top so no need for winter style coats... when I was youngerish I wore a WW2 northern parka with Wolf fur round the hood... it was good to 75 degrees below F.... and alternatively a Beaver Lake sewing company Eskimo parka that was gloriously purple with bright orange igloos in felt and Arctic Wolf fur round the hood... actually the tail of the wolf and when that coat was wrapped tight you could almost sleep in a snowdrift without dieing!! Not that I did but .... where the heck did I put my bucket list? ;D

This is a spring jacket...not a thick winter one....not a really light summer one. Such a dilemma! :)
    lindilou

Wait .... soon it will rain and you can wear it in the rain and ... LoL No?
