You have not provided enough information for someone to help you. What kind of clock do you have and who is the maker etc?

....no owners' manuel/instruction booklet ?

I would try them and see what happens. On a digital, the time will flash when you hit the "set time" button.

OR, search for the instructions on the Internet. For example, "instructions for Timex alarm clock model 476A"

The bulk of the painting process probably takes place over a week. I link find once you work on a painting over a few weeks you want link to start changing little elements. And then it really doesn't end. You need to choose the place link where you want to end because if you keep on going you're going to lose the soul of the painting.
