At the vet getting fixed. She didn't care , she was rescued from along side a highway been abandoned.

I would just let it go. Helping them find their birth parents would be too difficult. I don't think mine could handle the emotional upheaval, either.

Our dog was six years old when he came to live with us, he knows he adopted. I think he is very happy with his new home and owners too. :)

As long as they are fed and loved, I don't think they worry too much. We have cats, and I think our boy would probably go to anyone who feeds him, we have a feeling he goes round one of our neighbours when he disappears for hours. 

I told my cats when they were kittens , so they could get used to the idea , and it wouldn't be such a shock to them.  ;-) 

I'd let them know everytime they misbehaved. I'd scream it at them.....
