I'm hunting for a new to me used car......

.....and according to Consumer Report there are at least a dozen to avoid. Can anyone tell me what I SHOULD be looking for?  Mileage? Tires? Bumpers?

There are a million things to check Julie. If your auto knowledge is limited then my best suggestion is to get your friendly local mechanic or your auto club to give it a medical. It will cost you a few buck but it will be well worth it.

Mileage, service, doors fit straight,no evidence of oil leaks, doesn't blow smoke if it is not a diesel, look for major rust under car,and listen for noise that should not be there..and check what warranty is left if any..Check this video out..>>>>>>><<<<<<>..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rks40ng2C2Y

Subaru and Volvo both have very good records for safty and reliability.
