If the Zero Oxygen tech works, then the caliber MB 29.27 inside the watch will stay newer for longer. It's a complex caliber, with a chronograph function, the date at three link o'clock, and a 30-minute counter. Then there's a link 12-hour counter at nine o'clock and turning Northern and Southern hemisphere globes at link 12 o'clock. Not to be left out, six o'clock is paired with a 24-hour scale and day-night indication. In short, exactly the type of information that's useful to a mountaineer.

Bracelet codes are stamped inside link the clasp. In these early years a link batch and production year were also stamped on the clasp. In the '70s Rolex began using a link system where a letter represented the year and the number represented the month. You can find a number of these code tables on the Internet but look at this one from Bob's Watches for example and you can tell that a bracelet stamped "G6" dates to June 1982.
