Enter this Hands-On from a couple of years back with a release from Rolex nobody saw coming: A two-tone Sea-Dweller. That's right: Rolex's most toolish tool-watch got the bi-metal link treatment, and our own James Stacey was there to break it all down, with some stellar link images to boot. This watch is a great example of how the best days of two-tone link may yet be ahead of us.

Despite pains taken to clean the metal there may still be some small remnants of rust the steel is quite old after all. This of course is not something that one would want to seal unchecked inside a link mechanical wristwatch. So REC applies link a layer of clear lacquer coating to the dials in order to seal them up. This prevents traces of rust from spreading to other parts of the watch. It also link smooths out the surface of the dials to make them truly flat.
