Pistorius just been sentenced to six years for murder.

Just goes to show, it depends on who you are, the world over.

And he only has to do half the sentence, less one year which he did under house arrest. I would call that pathetic , it's certainly not justice/.

Being a famous athlete seems to bestow special privilege. In his case, I think his disability helps as well. His proven horrific temper seems lost in the decision.

It's Reeva Steenkamp's family I feel sorry for , they haven't had justice for their daughter.

    TU Ben..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Too bad for him he wasn't investigated by the FBI. He'd be having dinner on Air Force 1.

The fact that he killed her is not in question, but rather did he intend to kill her,did he know it was her in the bathroom, did he think it was an intruder in there and he fired in fear,,he looked like a man of confidence with his legs on,,i wonder if he felt like a man of fear and inferiority without them,,my point is there is a certain amount of doubt on whether he meant to kill Reeva or not,,if there is doubt then the punishment is enough..or maybe he is a cold blooded killer who will kill again..where there is doubt," innocent till proven guilty" is the order of the day..>>>>>>>><<<<<<..

So if the (famous) man is well known for his wicked temper and then "accidentally" shoots his girlfriend "thinking that it was a burglar in the bathroom"....don't pick me for the jury! (Does the name O.J. ring any bells?)

It makes me sick Dave. It's a slap on the wrist.

That rat-bag should be put away for at least 16 years, they are setting a precedent that the sentence is less when it is domestic violence, South Africa another country which needs to amend their gun laws.

If he was black, the sentence would have been at least 16 years.

@BM....Exactly. It has to do with the leniency towards domestic violence....nothing whatsoever to do with skin color.

Don't you mean his shoes were too short for his legs Hec?

But....any comments concerning the REAL topic of domestic violence? It isn't funny......boys!

Ducky, when you leave them without a leg upon which to stand, you surely can't expect an intelligent response.

Yep, still waiting. What kind of men (or women for that matter), make jokes about domestic violence? I know a few.

Thank you for pointing out the blade runner is white, it never occurred to me the racial issue could be the example, altho he had a coloured magistrate.

Wonder how long he lives in prison.

Well, I'll be go to h***. I followed the ordeal for a while and had thought it drizzled away. And now this. At least he got some time,  there is bound to be some less than sympathetic prisoners in there with him. I wonder if they'll let him take his legs along with him?

    sunnyB

He'll need his legs if he comes across some of the prisoners in South Africa, he'll cry then alright. Well that's if he is put in a proper prison, and not a holiday camp for special guests.
