We don't have a thermostat, only radiators on the wall.

I've been told we do have one in the kitchen. It does not look like anything I have seen or used before so I have not touched it.

I wouldn't either. Who KNOWS what kind of booby-trap someone may have concocted to fool a Texan ?

I don't use it much, have a oscillating and ceiling fans for summer and a space heater for winter. 78 is recommended for summer, 68 for winter, though.

78 in the summer and 70 in the winter

We have thermostats on all the radiators, so you set each room individually,  1 or 2 just keeps the room above freezing in the winter, 4 is comfortable when you are doing anything ie not sitting around , top is 8 for when it's  really cold in the winter, and you want to cook.

65 night , 72 day. Its 105 outside today too. But 75 on one side of house not used much. Have two central air condition units .

What is this little box for?

I saw it too jh. It was a temporary glitch I think.

Bain is also a name you've probably heard of before. He has an link uncanny ability to source the hard-to-get stuff and he's popular among retailers too often supplying them with watches to sell. Bain occasionally pens a piece on his site that offers a rare POV from a big-name dealer about the "industry" side of the business. Take this essay on the "Newman Effect" link and you'll see another perspective one you might not see on link HODINKEE.
