He was a high school crush. We dated in college. His name is Greg. I wear a thin gold band he gave me when I was 21.

We met when I was 20 and he was 21 and fresh out of the army ... he came to a bush bash my band was performing at and asked if he could join us and play harmonica ... we were smitten with one another but we got separated by circumstances ... he went on a 3 month motorbike road trip to Alaska with his biker pals ... meanwhile I followed my music to the west coast.... we were both the ones that 'got away'.

I looked him up a few months ago out of curiousity .... his obituary popped up in my search.

He passed away two years ago.....

While I'll save the history lesson for a follow-up piece I applaud Cartier for finally issuing a Privé link watch on a bracelet and one that seems to perfectly emulate the "à maillons" bracelet link from the 1920s. Now all that's standing between me and the platinum watch of my dreams is link 53500.
