My upgrade to Windows 10 was a walking nightmare. I took my computer to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and had it removed.

You ask as though I might actually know! I think one would just have the Windows as it was at last upgrade.

No Bob,i believe without the updates eventually they will cease to work properly,however i do not know how long that will take before it comes into effect,,i guess windows 7 will be the first to drop away,,Microsoft is not gonna keep supporting old windows versions..maybe i am wrong,but that is how i see it..>>>>>>>><<<<<<..

Why would the program stop working? The edits are just tweaks, aren't they? A program with no bugs should be fine...maybe fewer bells and whistles...

You will find your computer gets regular updates from microsoft,i have my computer set up to automatically recieve those updates in the background,and sometimes they ask me to do a restart..>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

G'day Duck,i have had windows 10 for about 4 months,because windows 10 is a combination of windows 10 and windows 7,keep in mind windows 8 and 8.1 was a bomb out,i have had help in configuring my screen to look like windows 7 but is an operating system windows 10,,i have nothing negative to say about windows 10,,depending on how good you are with your computer,you may be able to set it up yourself if not get help from your IP..it takes a couple of hours to download and i think about 700 mb of data,,i could be wrong on that,,that's about all i can say Duck..>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

I have a brand new Dell computer, less than 3 months old which has Windows 10 already installed.

I haven't had much time to become familiar with Windows ten but I do notice some differences. Cortana looks interesting, but I have tried to set her up three times now without any luck. LOL

I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and liked it but had too many bugs so reverted back to 8.1. Those bugs may have been fixed since..... Don't use Windows anymore because I got a chromebook and love it!

A chromebook uses an operating system (Chrome OS) made by Google, costs about half the price of a laptop, is much faster, and will do "almost" anything a laptop will do. It possibly wouldn't be suitable for higher-end computing, but for the average user it is fine.

Flip you had me (almost) sold on buying a Chromebook when I read a previous answer on aka from you , but after looking into it, I found out a Chromebook does not support Skype and Skype is the only means I have of communicating with family members across the sea. Other than this, a Chromebook seems to be the way to go.

C.B. (just FYI) Some options which we are used to using on Windows require a different app or method of using to use on a Chromebook. I can use Skype on my chromebook but I never use it, therefore I can't verify how user friendly it is. My wife says Messenger, which is through facebook, works very nicely for those with smartphones. Another option for smartphone to smartphone calls is Viber. All these are free. Sure beats the old calling cards!
