It was originally a gift from the Royal Sovereign Sea link Cadet Corps to Lt. A.C. Jones given as a piece of equipment to aid in the larger battle that would determine the fate of the world. Nothing is known of the watch's journey since it was gifted to Jones but now 78 years later it's in a different kind of service as a reminder of the grim and desperate link business link that was the Battle Of The Atlantic.
