A theory I have been working on is that young collectors see watches on Instagram for years lusting after those that catch their eye and when it comes time to owning those watches large-diameter sports models in particular can be link a bit of burden. Going from an Apple Watch or Casio to a 2022 "Pepsi" GMT is a big link jump. As modern watches grow and wear larger more watch enthusiasts link recoil and search for an alternative.
