Definately a petrol saw for a 3ft stump.The cost?? when I had my hire business I hired them for $75 AU per day.I would expect you to pay about 45 quid now.Google Hire One.That will give you some idea.

Tom, what about a wood mulcher, the type that is inserted straight into the stump. the cost would be greater thou.
You're right Kent,the cost would be greater. Also not all hire companies are prepared to dry hire that piece of equipment.(safety issues).Even chain saw hire is getting harder for the same reason.
Takes me back to when i had the acreage,i had a Stihl chainsaw,it was good,but when i bought the bigger Husqvarna,i was sold,it was brilliant.it was the last i sold when the Acreage went,,AAAHHHHH the memories,,However Hec i am with the boys,,Chainsaw might be the cheaper way to go,,<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>..
